Team-project competition

Description

Team projects are innovative initiatives carried out in collaboration with at least two researchers who are members of the Network, members of another network, or collaborators in Canada or abroad. The principal investigator must be a member of the AIRS Network.

Proposed projects should enable joint research initiatives between teams from different institutions or different AIRS Network axes and have a high potential for leverage. Selected projects will receive one-year funding of up to $30 000 (4 applications per year). Funded projects are expected to lead to a grant application to peer-reviewed funding agencies or to industry.

Importante dates

  • Annoncement : Early December
  • Submission deadline : January 30 at 23h59

Application submission process

Please complete the online application form (https://forms.office.com/r/pfWBkzs12b) and send an email with a PDF file containing all the required documents to airs.hsj@ssss.gouv.qc.ca. The list of documents is provided below.

Program eligibility

  • Team projects must be proposed by at least two regular members of the Network, with at least one serving as the principal investigator.
  • Inter-faculty, inter-university, inter-network, and international collaborations as well as interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged.
  • PhD candidates in their final year and postdoctoral fellows may serve as co-investigators on these applications.

Evaluation process

The selection of funded projects will be based on the originality, relevance and scientific merit of the research project, the relevance to the mandate of the AIRS Network, the potential leverage for future grant applications to funding agencies or industry and the potential for training highly qualified personnel.

Competition specifications

  1. Project funding is valid for one year.
  2. A PDF document containing all of the following sections must be sent by email at airs.hsj@ssss.gouv.qc.ca:

  • A detailed research project proposal (maximum 5 pages, excluding figures and references).
  • A detailed budget and justification of the planned project expenses (1 page). If you plan to manage funds across more than one institution (more than one inter-institutional agreement), please break down the expenses by cost center to indicate the total amount for each institution.

  • Common CV (CIHR format) of the principal investigator and all co-investigators
  • Signed letter from the principal investigator describing their involvement in the Network as well as the nature of the collaborations in the proposed research project.

AIRS Network competition

However, there is no limit on the number of applications in which they may participate as a co-investigator.

Terms and conditions of the grant
